Summary
You may receive the following error when attempting to synchronise for the first time.
"An error occurred during synchronisation.
Attempted to read or write protected memory. This is often an indication that other memory is corrupt."
This may be due to the fact that you have other software installed that utilises a previous version of Microsoft SQL Server Compact Edition.
Resolution
Download and install Microsoft SQL Server Compact Edition 3.5 SP1.
Microsoft Windows XP & Microsoft Windows Vista:
Installation
Upon launching the installer, you may receive the following warning.
Click once on the "Run" button to continue.
The following dialog box will then be displayed.
Click once on the "Next >" button to continue.
Read the displayed license agreement. If you accept the terms in the license agreement, select the "I accept the terms in the license agreement" radio button and then click "Next >" to continue.
Click the "Install" button to begin the installation of Microsoft SQL Server Compact Edition 3.5 SP1.
Once the installation has been completed, the following dialog box will be displayed.
Click the "Finish" button to exit the installer.
